Jonny's requested post

We are going to play a fun game. It's called read this post backwards. Start at the end and go back, they didn't upload right. :)

Dad's big buck. Craziest thing I've ever seen. He had really thick antlers like webbed toes.

The boys out celebrating, as they did the ENTIRE weekend.

Dadda and his son. It's so great to see my Dad with his two sons that he never had. I think his life is now complete.

Where Jonny took his shot from. He shot the buck from 225 yards away.

Jonny with his first buck! 10 pointer! I'm so proud.

Staking out the grounds.

A snowy Friday=Perfect hunting weather?! :)

Well folks, it's official. My father has completely brainwashed my husband (and many of his friends and entire family) with hunting. Fortunatley I grew up with this crazy concept and am quite use to big burly men walking around the house dressed from head to toe in camo and orange. So, it's no surprise to me that Jonny spends his precious friday's that he get off every other week to go hunting or spend time in a related activity. Today it snowed here, nothing to write home about-just some flurries. But they still went out in the 5 degree weather to shoot them some birdies! I'd say they had some success, 14 birds they saw and they got every single one of them! My Dad's english setter, Lucy, did a great job finding the birds for the boys. Enjoy the pics!

You may not recognize that man, but it indeed that is my husband.
Lucy Jane the dog. It's pretty funny when it snows she is really hard to see because she's all white with dark grey and brown spots. Don't worry-Dad's got an orange hunting vest for her. He wouldn't have it any other way. :)

Jonny and Lucy

Here birdy birdy birdy!!!

I'll have you know that after I went off to college my Dad missed me so much that he went and bought a dog to replace me. ;)

Time to clean the birds! They are actually quite delicious!

Safe

I can't help but think lately how discouraging life can be. Maybe it's because being a recent college graduate has me thinking about other things than just school work and having fun. There are so many things that my mind tends to wander to and worry about. But, I am encouraged every day that God is with me ALWAYS and his mercies are NEW every morning! How amazing is that?! Jonathan will be the first to tell you, I'm not one to speak many words (which is kind of ironic that I started this blog) :)but words effect my heart especially through music. There is a Phil Wickham (we all know I'm a Phil fan) song out on the radio right now that literally brings me to tears pretty much everytime I hear it. I hope these words bless your day as they do mine. It is such a great reminder of how the Lord is with us always no matter what we're going through.

Meet our nephew, Caleb!

Our nephew, Caleb was born Thursday, January 14th at 11:33am. He is more precious than you could ever imagine. I can't imagine what it is like to be a new parent but I know that Isaac and Steph are going to do a wonderful job. God is so amazing to give us each the gift of life here on Earth and in Heaven! We are so blessed!

Only a few hours old and already looking around wide eyed! :) Meet Caleb 8 pounds, 11.7 ounces and 20 3/4 inches long.
After baby Caleb had about 50 pictures taken of him, we all walked into the hallway and pix texted away. It was quite a hillarious sight! Here is Grandma and Grandpa Crabtree, Grandma and Grandpa Smith, and Uncle Brian.

The pediatrician checking Caleb over. In her words..."He's simply perfect!"

Isaac and Grandma JoJo. What a proud Grandma!

Bros. It was such a blessing for every one of us to be there the day Caleb was born. All the Uncles and Aunt (just one, that's me!) Grandma's and Grandpa's got to see him within just hours of him being born. Family is such a blessing!

The happy (and really tired) parents!

I don't know how many baby jokes we got that day, but it was ALOT! I have to admit, Jonny looks quite comfortable holding a newborn. ;)

Aunt Katie and Uncle Jonny

He really is perfect. He literally looks like a doll!

Mama with her boy. She did so great!

Meet me in St. Louis

Jonny and I were so happy to be able to get away for a few days over New Years. We went to the wonderful city of Saint Louis and had so much fun! Its so awesome to be able to explore new things and places with your best friends. We had lots of laughs and met lots of great people. Oh, we probably ate a lot of good food, too :) Enjoy the pictures!

In front of the arch! I'm kind of scared of it, but Jonny (of course) thinks it is an engineering masterpiece. (which it is) :)
He's so strong! ;)

New Years Eve in the lobby of our hotel in Union station! We went to eat at a wonderful seafood resteraunt called Landry's. Delish!

One of my favorite things about St. Louis! All the gorgeous churches! This one here is across the highway from the Lemp Mansion.

Lauren's Aunt, Carolyn. She was sweet enough to show Jonny and I around New Years Eve day. We learned a lot and she was so much fun to be with!

On top of the stable microbrewery overlooking the old Lemp brewery!

yummy crepes at the rooster! Thanks for the suggestion Lash!

Winter Wonderland

Christmas Eve at Granny's house. Two special people are missing from this photo. We missed them very much!
Christmas evening at my parents house. Very relaxing and quaint.
Christmas morning at the Crabtree's with Steph, Jo Anna, and Kaleigh. Steph is due any day now and Jonathan and I are so excited for our new nephew to arrive!

Christmas Eve tradition. Hot dogs and ice cream and central dairy in Jefferson Missouri. We sure did miss Jenny and Brant. :(

Our first Christmas. Jonny is so creative with his wrapping. :)
Our home decoarted for Christmas. I had so much fun decorating and mom helped me (especially with making big bows for our wreaths outside).

This is what Jonathan and I got to come home to the day after Christmas. And, guess what. All the snow is still there and then some! We love the newness of snow, we missed it a lot-but, it sure is a lot of work! I must say, our home is quite cute. :)
